Privacy Notice

Ngorli Community Interest Company is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we use it. This notice explains your rights and our responsibilities.

Last updated: November 2026

1. Who We Are

Ngorli Community Interest Company ("Ngorli CIC", "we", "us") is a community interest company registered in England and Wales, based in Watford, Hertfordshire. We are the data controller for the personal information you share with us through this website and our programmes.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us — for example when you complete an enquiry form, register interest in a programme, contact us, or volunteer. This may include your name, email address, phone number, your child's age or school year, and details relevant to the service you are enquiring about. For safeguarding purposes we may also collect information needed for DBS checks and programme registration.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to respond to enquiries, process programme registrations, deliver our services, communicate with you about activities you or your child are involved in, manage volunteering and safeguarding processes, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use your information to send unrestricted marketing to children.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the lawful bases of consent, contract (where you are registering for a service), and legitimate interests, and process special category data where necessary for safeguarding under the substantial public interest condition. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Sharing Your Information

We may share information with statutory agencies such as Hertfordshire County Council or the police where necessary to protect a child or vulnerable adult, or where required by law. We do not sell your personal data. Any third parties we work with are bound by appropriate data processing agreements.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected, including for safeguarding and legal compliance. Retention periods reflect statutory guidance and our data retention schedule. You can request deletion of your data where it is no longer needed and you have no ongoing relationship with us.

7. Your Data Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, request correction, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Children's Data

Where we collect information about children, we do so with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We minimise the amount of personal data we collect from children, restrict access to those who need it, and do not use children's data for marketing. Parents may request to see or delete information we hold about their child.

9. Website Cookies and Analytics

This website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Where non-essential cookies are used, we seek your consent. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use analytics in a way that identifies individuals without consent.

10. Contact About This Notice

If you have any questions about this Privacy Notice or how we handle your data, please contact us at nch@ngorli.org or 01923 225973. We will respond to your request promptly and within the statutory timeframes.

This Privacy Notice is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. We may update this notice from time to time.
